Abergavenny Orchestral Society is one of the oldest amateur orchestras in the UK and we now perform under the title Abergavenny Symphony Orchestra. We are a community orchestra with members of all ages who come from a 40 mile radius. We have weekly rehearsals during school term time and play a wide variety of music, mainly focused towards performing 3 main concerts per year, plus a free children’s concert to give children a flavour of live orchestral music. Occasional orchestral workshops allow us to pull in players from a wider area and looks at some larger scale works.
We rehearse on Sunday evenings, 6.30 – 8.45 pm (see Members page for more details).
