6 October 2019, 10am – 5pm at the Clarence Hall, Crickhowell.
Dennis Simons will be leading this one-day workshop for string orchestra. We will be looking at a variety of works, but focusing especially on Suk’s Serenade for Strings.
- Suk – Serenade for Strings, op. 6
- Mozart – Divertimento in B♭ K137
- Handel – Concerto Grosso op. 6 no 10
- Rawsthorne – Light Music for Strings
- Parry – Suite in F (Lady Radnor’s Suite)
This event is open to members and non-members alike. Previous events have proved very popular and draw players from far afield. Places are limited so be sure to book yours soon.
The workshop takes place in the Clarence Hall, Crickhowell. This is where our orchestral workshops normally happen (but is a different location from the 2016 string workshop). You can find directions here.
We will be providing tea, coffee, squash and biscuits for the breaks, and we can also provide lunches as long as you order them in advance on your application form.
Music will of course be provided on the day, but you can download some of it in advance from the International Music Score Library Project (IMSLP) website if you want to have a look beforehand.
